We had a very full weekend so I am going to break it into pieces for everyone. Let's start with Friday, Dax's 4th birthday.
We started the day with yummy cinnamon rolls from Ana and Angela. Thanks guys!! After we ate we went to the YMCA to play in the super fun kid pool with Miss Egg. The water was pretty chilly but the kids didn't seem to mind. They went down the slides and in the fountains for a couple of hours. We got home around noon and Angela's daddy was here to pick her up and head down to see her grandparents (we hope you had a great time!).
After Angela left Nanna came to pick up Dax and take him to Dunkin Donuts for a birthday donut and chocolate milk. YUM! While they were having a donut break Piper and I headed to Publix to do our grocery shopping for the weekend. We were looking forward to having a house full of good friends and family on Friday and Saturday. We came home and put together home made chili in the crock pot. Before too long our favorite boys from Ohio pulled up to the house. We were so excited to see Junior Revolution! They are an awesome band that we have known for a little over a year. Whenever they are in Tampa they stay with us and we always look forward to their visits and hearing them play. We were bummed that their show for Friday night was canceled, but we had a good time hanging out here at the house all night. The best part was when I beat everyone at Scrabble, at least that is the way I remember it.
Here are the highlights...
Ready for dinner
Birthday Brownies for our 4 year old!
This pretty much sums up Dax's birthday. Skateboards, skateboards and more skateboards!

Matt was here too. He was either taking the above pictures or doing this
Miss Kelly was here and had a wonderful time listening to Copeland and watching Matt work on her masterpiece. We love all of you guys so much! Thanks for making Dax's 4th birthday so wonderful!

Painting Progress
Hours 3 and 4. This time I was home and sound asleep while Matt painted. I have been asleep before midnight more nights than not. For those of you that know me you know what a HUGE deal this is! I love sleep, I just never manage to get it.
We have trees. I wish you could all see this in person. The amount of detail he puts into his paintings is amazing. I look at and think, sure I could paint a sky with some clouds and a bunch of trees. Well I could, but it would not be fit to hang anywhere. My husband is amazing :)

Alaskan Aunt
Matt' sister Sheri was in town last week from Alaska. The last time we saw her was 3 years ago! Dax instantly fell on love with his Titi Sheri and the feeling was mutual from Sheri. She tried to sneak off with him her last night here.
In true Mitchell style we ate lots of great food during our short visit, including a trip to our favorite japanese steak house, Joto's! Matt made his famous fried egg sandwiches on Monday night and they were fantastic. I am still trying to find something he doesn't excel in, so far I am not coming up with much.
Piper and Titi Sheri
We were having a "don't blink your eyes contest, okay?!"
I won and then consoled Piper over her loss. The kids never had a chance, I'm a mom, if I blink I might miss something
Don't we look happy? I love my family!
Matt and Sheri
Uh-oh
Some things never change
The kids really loved having time with Titi Sheri and hope that she comes back to visit again soon. In the meantime, STAY WARM!!

Poor Bug
Dax has not had the greatest luck the past month or two. Just as he is recovered from one injury a new one appears. This one is pretty gruesome. Poor Dax was clothes lined by Roxy's leash when she chased after her ball. She lunged for her ball and Dax was in the way. I feel sick everytime I look at his neck and think about how much worse it could have been.
The pictures below were taken the next day. The accident happened last Friday and is already looking so much better. I think we will have to delay his 4 year old pictures for a couple weeks.
Dax with the caged wild Roxy
Close up
As you can see he is still our sweet, happy little bug. Poor Roxy loves her Dax and didn't mean to hurt him. She looks so sweet and innocent here.
